What are you thankful for?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 05, 2009:

Gratitude
oh, it would be so much easier to separate out what i'm not thankful for! and even at that, i would be in the process of finding gratitude for those things!

this past week i was actually considering this very question. hindsight, of course, allows us all to see with far more clarity how wonderful those horrible occurrences are in our lives. having noted the glory of this brilliant puzzle that is my life, i can at least attempt constant gratitude for everything.

my goal is to be fully thankful for every small and large happening in my existence. i'm certainly not entirely there yet, but it's fun to work toward constant joyful gratitude.

I used to worry about watching what I said, now I have to keep an eye on my thoughts as well.  I catch myself jumping into an attitude and have to make a 180.  Not always easy, sort of like bathing a cat, lots of twists and turns. I trained myself to do other things, I can do this to.  Mindset is the one thing we can control, good wishes for yours.

All of those small and large happenings = life
they are all moving toward joy with you

sandi > i think for me, setting the clear intention is the primary thing. once that's done, the 180s are minimized. when they occur, i do my best not to dwell on them, but to forgive myself and go right back to the intention. the closer i attend to the intention, the fewer are the times i'm bathing kitties! thank you for your wonderful input! good luck to you, too!!

barbara > definitely! always, always moving in and toward joy! ain't it grand? thank you for your mellifluous feedback!
