yes. our thoughts become our reality. if i desire happiness in my life, i need to embody happiness. beyond my own self interest, when i approach the world from a positive place, my happy ripples extend far beyond my personal boundaries and help others be happy, too. what could be better?

hmmm... my first thought is, "God is love." that was my parents' mantra to my sister and me while we were growing up, despite the church shouting hellfire and damnation.
because of all the shouting, my second thought is, "man, i really don't like to use the word God." i actually did spend several years refusing to use the word, knowing that my understanding of God was quite different than many peoples' understanding of God and that by using that word, i would be misinterpreted. my understanding of God doesn't include the idea of some figure sitting in judgement, but of a wonderful amorphous energy of being and creation. i don't think that's what most folks mean when they say, "God."
at this point, while i still use other terms more frequently (the Universe, Great Spirit, the Creator, Master of the Universe, the One...), i've come to a belief that, however folks interpret the word, there is still a basic communication about that energy that comes across when i use the word "God."
perhaps i just lightened up and stopped worrying about the details ~ it'll all come out balanced and perfect as we move forward. in the meantime, i think i'll just spend the day celebrating with and in God, the Universe, Great Spirit, the Creator, Master of the Universe, the One... wheeeeeee! what fun!

oh, color is the movement, the flow, the passion of my life. everything is related to color and everything can be put in color terms ~ emotions, food, weather, you name it! color is the energy of my being and the reflection of my soul. i drown myself in color daily, swimming in its' glory and grandeur. i love color and color loves me!

ah, art. i am moved by all forms of creative expression. the thing is, we are all creators. i am just as moved by the accountant who has envisioned and produced a more efficient and accurate way of working with the numbers as i am by the opera singer performing. every moment of our lives is an act of creation to be celebrated!

well, first thing is to take away the greed incentive. financial systems, just as all community systems, should somehow reward compassion first. capitalism rewards the wrong things and assumes a baseline of integrity that doesn't exist any longer. without that baseline to guide the corporate world, greed is given full reign. instead of caring for profits first, people and their needs should be the first priority and we, as the consumers, can help to make that happen!

spirituality is the primary focus of my life. if i'm living my soul in a physical body, it's important that each aspect of my life be acknowledged as part of that process. now, that's not to say that i'm successfully working from an elevated state of awareness in every moment, but hopefully when i fall behind, i've given myself a wonderful point to ponder and expand my growth.
